Cons
too addictive!

This games is simply astounding. I am a college student, and since I bought the game a few weeks ago, I have been spending way too much time sitting in front of my monitor, building castles, and stables, and barracks (oh my!) in order to defeat my friends over our LAN network. Truly, this is the best strategy game I have played so far. Although the graphics have somewhat to be desired, the actual gameplay and depth are impressive. There are four different resources, not just one (like in Starcraft, for instance), and the variety of units and building makes for a fun game each time. I have been playing for weeks, yet I continue to discover new, cunning strategies to defeat my human opponents. The single player campaigns are very good as well. There are five major campaigns, which take you to historical scenarios that really immerse you into the game. What's the only complaint I have about Age of Empires - The Age of Kings? - It's too addictive!!! I should be studying, but I find myself captivated by this truly amazing game from Ensemble studio and Microsoft.
