Too much going on at the same time

I am not a heavy game player, but when I was given the demo for this game, I was hooked. This is the most fun I have ever had with a computer game. I purchased the full game and didn't realize how much time I would be at the computer playing it.
For those not familiar with the game, AGE OF EMPIRES II takes you through the Middle ages and allows you to chose between 13 civilizations to lead. You have to start with a handful of villagers, a few houses and build your village into a city, all while watching for invading armies. There are too many details to go into here about game play, but anyone interested in a quality strategy/world-building game, this is the one. And with all the various civilizations and maps, this game could keep you busy all year.
My only major complaint, it that there is so much going on at one time, it is hard to keep up and for those of us working on a small monitor, it's even crazier. But don't let that stop you from trying this game.
Provided I make it through AOE II, I will certainly be looking forward to AOE III.
