It was around in the Fall 2001 that Nintendo released a curious little game called Advance Wars, few people had actually heard of this game and so it didn't exactly sell very well. My favorite gaming site gave this game a 9.9 out of 10 rating, this review is what sparked my first bit of interest in... Read full review »

Cons a bit repetitive after a while, music can be annoying

When you've played a few strategy games, Fire Emblem, Final Fantasy Tactics, and so on, its easy to feel like you've played it all. So I was pretty hesitant to pick up Advance Wars, but with my new DS in hand, I felt like the empty Gameboy Advance slot needed a good game. So idly strolling through... Read full review »

It wasn?t too long ago that gamers crowded around such war strategies as Command & Conquer, Starcraft and my favorite, Worms. In fact, such games are extremely popular and has become a genre with a cult following. That?s right, which makes you wonder, who would win in a fight, a war strategy gamer... Read full review »

I always liked the Advance Wars games. The first one I bought was Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising and logged hundreds of hours with it. Going way back to the days of PC shareware and freeware, I enjoyed turn based strategy games. What made Advance Wars even better was that it had a mild learning... Read full review »

Cons only 18 missions; tough to find

One of the greatest virtues of this entertainment medium is realized whenever a game is both "simple" and "addictive". For a title to be simplistic, it must have the virtue of being readily accessible. For it to keep the player's attention, it must frequently give them renewed incentive to continue... Advance Wars was one of the flagship titles for the Gameboy Advance. However, it lived in the shadow of Super Mario Advance and Castlevania even though this game is a true gem. The game starts in training mode because there is a lot to learn, but don't worry the learning curve is moves at a nice... Read full review »

I have had more than my fill of fun using Advance wars from the moment I purchased. The Campaign Mode is very good and the War Room is also a sweet compliment. My only regret is not having played with multiple players. The Create Map mode also adds even more fun. I realize now that in create map... Read full review »

Ah, Advance Wars. The little game that came out of nowhere and dominated the early days of the GBA. Without a doubt this game remains my favorite GBA title and continues to amaze me with the huge amount of stuff there is to do in one little cart. AW2 offers even more levels but changes little else,... Read full review »
