OVERALL:
Doom3 seems to be the typical "First Person Shooter" with LOTS of eye and ear candy, but unfortunatley, a great overall rating was succumbed by repetitious game play and dull online play.

A nice tribute to the original, but not earthshaking
As someone who has played all the Doom and Quake variants, I looked forward to Doom 3.
In short, I found it to be an excellent tribute to the original game.
Most of the original critters are in there and have been updated to current technology for appearance and movement.

Turn the Lights off and start to be Scared

Dark and Haunting
First off, the new engine shows pretty nicely. Detail is excellent -- it really shrugs off the generic repeating level design patterns we've seen in the past with games in the 3D genre.
