Band Hero - Great Friend and Family Night Game!

DEFINETLY get this item for whoever you're buying for. It's not just a game you play by yourself and it's fun for all ages! SUPER FUN!
I bought this for my brother (10) but it basically gives everyone in the family enjoyment! Band Hero has a guitar, drum, and karaoke (singing) portion so 3 people can play at once, which is really convenient and fun!
So when we first ripped open the game there was a bit of an assembly to do with the drums but the directions are so basic, I'm convinced anybody can work with them. We threw the game in the 360 and I was really suprised at how many songs the game has. They even have up to date songs like Taylor Swift's Love Story, but they also have older songs like "Heard it Through the Grapevine." There are really songs for every age for this game so it won't be tough to find one you'd want to jam along to!
With each instrument, you have a wide array of levels, characters, and outfits you can choose. (The career version allows you to build up to gaining more of the neat costumes and other items for guitars and drums and such.)
So as we played, my brother noticed that when he was hitting the keys for the drums they weren't registering. I noticed that for it to register in the game you had to hit it about a second before it actually went over the circle at the bottom of the screen where the note should really be played! There was a time delay but I looked in the instruction book and you can actually change how much slack (time delay) you want to put on the notes so everything is up to you and in yoru hands! Whatever's comfortable for you can be applied.
The microphone is too easy to hook up and I could hear myself at a good volume yet it didn't overpower the song. Actually, everything is extremely easy to hook up so the instruction book isn't really needed all that much!
Altogether, Band Hero let's our family and our friends get together and rock out, play in a band together, and really have fun! The different levels help each age group considering the smaller kids aren't exactly going to succeed on expert!
I would DEFINETLY reccomend this product to those parents who are considering buying your child yet another video game, this one is actually worth it! Being a music enthusiast family, the kids are really beginning to feel beats and it's amusing watching the bang around on the drums and do slides with the guitar.
