I am such a video-game-ophile.

Bet you, dear reader, could never have guessed that coming out of my mouth -- yeah, me, the woman who writes in Home & Garden, Kids & Family and Beauty. However, back in my college days, many a day was spent playing such classics as Super Smash Brothers and... Read full review »

For proof that Cinderella stories can happen even in the world of videogames, one need look no further than the Guitar Hero franchise. When the series started a few years back, it was an almost off the radar game that only the most hardcore rhythm game fanatics were following. Sure, it looked... Read full review »

"Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock" for the Xbox 360

-=First Off=-

Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock was one of my first games for the Xbox 360, along with Halo 2. I had played in here and there with friends, but never actually played my own career mode or most of the tracks. I never... Read full review »

Cons Graphics mediocre, a few minor game play annoyances

Though I’ve been interested in video games since childhood, I’ve mostly played adventure and role-playing games. I had heard of Guitar Hero, but wasn’t immediately interested in the series. My first experience with it was with Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock for the Wii. Since then I’ve been... Read full review »

My darling husband knew I was wanting another guitar controller for Rock Band, and after doing some research, we found that the Guitar Hero III controller will work with Rock Band (but not vice versa, unfortunately). He brought me home Guitar Hero III for Xbox 360, assuming I'd play it while... Read full review »

Pros a good game, lots of great sound tracks, some DLC
Cons controller is a bit bulky and it's motion sensing can goof up.

I got Guitar Hero 3 during black Friday when I saw a good deal on it at circuit city, 50 bucks for both the game and a wireless control so I picked it up, I have a brother who raved about the game. After playing it I can see why this overly milked fad got so popular. Guitar Hero 3 is an addictive... Read full review »

Over the last few years Guitar Hero has enjoyed huge success for a completely new concept and for good reason: the series has become known as fun, fast-paced, challenging, and fresh. Good songs were chosen for the previous titles and well designed notes made them very fun to play.

Pros Mostly good songs, fun for the whole family.
Cons Bonus tracks are not terribly interesting.

When the first guitar hero came out, it was little more than a blip on my radar - I really did not pay it much mind. When the second one came out, it had become much more popular and many of my friends were playing it. I somewhat considered it a gimmick until one of my friends brought his guitar... Do you ROCK?!? My kids do!

My sister got Guitar Hero III for my kids for their birthday this spring. They play it every day. I guess you can say they are addicted to it…and for good reason. It's a great game for all ages although I would monitor it if your kids are under 10. We... Read full review »

I usually am behind when it comes to playing music based videogames, so this would be the first guitar hero I were to own. With all of the current unlockables in the game, the music and controller this is the game you want to play for the sake of having fun. It's only the first day of owning the... Read full review »
