All style, very little substance
Pros
animations are solid, and the showdowns are intense and very cool.
Cons
The game just lacks polish in some areas (the sliding is odd). Not much fun.

The Bottom Line:
This just felt like it should have been better. It was very stylistic, but in the end too short and never really held my interest. Too short to buy
This game was a rental of a friend of mine, and I got to sit down with it for a few hours and give it a good play through.
Graphics: I actually thought many of the graphics and animations looked pretty good. Some of the character models could look better, but there is plenty of movement and some of the special effects are just fun to watch. That said, I thought many of the environments were a bit bland at times, and it was not always easy to see where you needed to go next, because the environment didn't change a whole lot from location to location.
Sound and music: Excellent scores in this department. The music was good and never detracted from the gameplay, and I thought most of the environmental sounds were pretty good - plenty of nice-sounding explosions and weapons fire sounds that definitely fit the game's very brutal theme.
Game play: The character controls easily enough, but some of the mechanics - like the slide - work really nice in some places, and really, really badly in others. Also, and this is tied in to the graphics, but it is often hard to see where you need to go next, and sometimes it can be a bit frustrating trying to advance. The game is really not built to be a platformer, but more of a rails-shooter, so the parts that do include some type of platforming often do not come off real well.
Intangibles: There were some good things done here. The game is stylistic, very violent, and some of your abilities earned along the way are rather cool (I especially liked the sniper-like shot). Also, the showdown/standoff scenes I thought were really cool. Still, there were a couple of levels, like one where you are moving around boats or buildings or... sadly, I don't even recall what they were now. They were so bland, and you had to make your way to the top and shoot down these beams to use as tightropes, more or less. I was also not a fan of the airplane stage. The ability to slow time has been done before and done better, but the mechanic still worked well enough. Lastly, the game is really quite short - capable of being beaten in about 6 hours.
Overall: I would say say a 3 out of 5 at best. I'm not a huge fan of shooter games, and it takes a really good one like F.E.A.R or Gears of War to pique my interest. Unfortunately this game was not one I would recommend to many people. For starters, it is just too short to be a good purchase. If you feel the need to play it, rent or borrow. Additionally, it is an incredibly violent and brutal game - definitely not for young children. Still, for what it is, the game is entertaining in spurts and some parts were done pretty well, but even after playing through it once, I don't think I would have any interest in playing it a second time through, making it a less-than-great overall value.
