Can't go wrong with an Acme Juicer
Pros
Bigger motor than a food processor, easy-cleaning parts, durable, quiet.
Cons
Basket must be emptied every couple cups of juice.

I used the original Acme Juicer working in a health food store sandwich/smoothie bar, which tells you how tough these machines are. Anyone complaining about these being tough to clean has no idea, Acmes have only 6 moving parts, the lid, the filter bowl, the juice-catching shround, the grinder plate and nut, and the tamper. I don't even count the last three as parts, everything is easy to take apart and reassemble, which we did constantly in the store. Yes, if you plan to extract quarts of juice at a go, this is not the juicer for you, but if you're juicing a glass or two, this is an easy, efficient (gets more juice from the pulp) and extremely well-built machine. They are practically unbreakable. Juice is supposed to be extracted and drunk fresh, not stored. If you can't afford this machine, just find a used one!
