When I went to buy a scanner, I wanted something that would scan my items for eBay, for a reasonable price, and that was easy to use.
My son said that I should get a scanner with USB, and while he was visiting this spring, we found the Acer 320U scanner on sale for $29.99 after rebate. The rebate turned out to be hassle free, and I did receive it. So the price was more than reasonable - it was a steal.
As far as ease of use goes, I'll have to preface this by letting you know that I'm not a big computer user, so the prospect of setting up a new piece of equipment was a bit daunting. It was amazing though, how easy it was to set up and use. After downloading the software on the CD that came with the scanner and plugging it in, the setup program pretty much did everything. The only thing we had to do extra was to install an extra program called Irfanview to replace some of the software that came with the scanner. The reason we did this was that my son thought that some of the scanner's software was too slow. Once we did this, the scanner worked great.
I recommend this scanner to anyone who wants a good scanner to use for everyday use, but doesn't want to spend a lot of money. I don't even come close to using the maximum resolution this scanner has, so I find that it will do everything I want it to.
