This was my first venture with both Abit and AMD (Soyo & Tyan previously). The board was packaged well, and came with both a quick start & a more detailed manual. For the most part these were well done. I didn't have to call tech support, although in a few places the instructions would have been clearer if they had been reviewed my someone who spoke English as their first language.
With an AMD Athlon 64 3400+ installed, and an Ultra 500 watt power supply the board powered up & Win XP Pro installed without any problems. There have been no lockups in the current 118 hours of use. 25 seconds to log-on was a pleasant change from my other slower Linux box.
Using nothing more elaborate than a Masscool cpu cooler the 3400+ goes from a reported 37 degrees C to an low usage temp of 40 - 41, and a high usage (gaming temp of 49-51 (The Chieftec ULT 31648 case with four of the five 80mm fan cages filled no doubt helps.). Board version is 1.1.
