Some Ups and Downs, But a Great Card Overall

Pros DirectX9 compatable ... Bump mapping, pixel shading, etc, etc ... Incredibly smooth...
Cons Power supply issue
Recommended it? Yes

I've had my 9800 Pro for about a month and a half now, and I am very pleased with it. The graphics quality is a lot higher than it was with my old Geforce card, and I can run many games with options cranked where my Geforce would crawl. Ever try running Battlefield: Vietnam on a Geforce? Ouch.

Pros Good for the its price. Graphics improve. Much faster than older models.
Cons Over heats. Requires high power source. Clock speed still mid range. FPS drop constantly.
Recommended it? No

Let me start by giving you my own PC spects. I have 1G of RAM, P4 3.0 basically, the works. Now, the ATI RADEON 9800 PRO, this card is good, but not that good, first of all, it requires a power supply of at least 300 and it over heats a lot, if you wanna test its over heatting, have your PC tower... Due to my status as a complete ATI fanatic, I must not write this review in a serious manner. I apologize in advance if I have offended anyone, but I insist on expressing my true feelings in this completely honest, heart-felt review.

Pros Speed, image quality. Extra features added.
Cons Expensive.

Fist of all, I am not a gamer. I use the Radeon 9800 Pro for professional video editing and graphics application. I have to say the Radeon Pro is one fast rendering machine, absolutely incredible. It handles nicely any graphic application and improves the rendering time of Windows based video... Read full review »

I recently upgraded my video card from a GeForce Ti4200 to this baby. I was getting OK game playing from the GeForce at 1024x768 with most effects turned on (but no AA). With this card I have run 1280x1024 with 4xAA and everytying looks GREAT! (The resolution of the image say "1024x768" is how many... Read full review »

Pros Solid gaming card
Cons Price
Recommended it? Yes

I bought Crucial Technology's version of the Radeon 9800 Pro video card and I have to say anyone would love one of these as a gift.
The new suite of Radeon cards marks ATI's return to the lead in the video card wars, fought primarily with nVidia. With 128 MB of on-board quad-channel DDR... Read full review »

Don't buy if you have an ASUS A8V Mobo

Pros Was fast and smooth, very quiet
Cons Made my whole system very quiet
Recommended it? No

Trust me. These two pieces of hardware DO NOT get along and it seems that neither company is interested in engineering a fix. After bringing my system to its knees with random lock ups, crashes, crazy artifacting, etc., I have begun the arduous process of getting a refund from Sapphire. Note: I... Read full review »

Pros Great Rendering, Smooth Graphics, Awesome Benchmarks

I purchased this card for use inside a customer's computer. I paired it up with an Asus A7N8X Deluxe Board, a Serial ATA 10k RPM Raptor hard drive, 1gig of Corsair 400mhz memory, and a AMD XP 3200 CPU.

I benchmarked this system, and got some amazing results, during the 3D gaming... Read full review »
