Pros Works well with Photoshop; DVI port; S-Video port
Cons Confusing and complicated installation
Recommended it? Yes

I was really looking forward to the installation of more memory in my main computer. I opened the case, located the slot, popped the memory in and turned my Windows 98 SE computer on.

Nothing, nothing, nothing. There was a beep, no display and, after a minute or so, the computer turned... Read full review »

Hello

This review is going to be reflecting the ATI Radeon-9000 Graphics accelerator card with 64-Mb DDR memory and 4X AGP.
The basic specs of this card are: 4X AGP architecture, 64 or 128-Mb DDR VRAM, 128-bit processing. I was very skeptical about this card but I bought it... Read full review »

Not too expensive, not too cheap but just right.

Pros price vs quality
Cons drivers
Recommended it? Yes

Just a little background about my video card. I had a GeForce 2 MX previously so the comparisons I draw will be between the GeForce 2 MX and the Radeon 9000

I was looking for a new video card to go with my AMD XP 1800 . What I wanted was a video card that would provide adequate graphic... Read full review »

Pros great openGL and Direct3d support. inexpensive, good frame rate
Cons linux support, no automatic driver updates.
Recommended it? Yes

after years and years it looks like ati has finally gotten around to making good cards. in the era of voodoo 2 and 3 they didn't have much to offer, and the drivers were hard to come by. I replaced a voodoo3 16 meg card with the radeon 9000 64 meg. This card was the cheapest radeon that the store... Read full review »

Pros Good price in respects to competition. Easy installation, Lots of drivers
Cons compatibility issues with Windows XP
Recommended it? No

I purchased the Radeon 9000 64MB about 2 months ago and was initially pleased with. However, I have come to realize that the card has a lot of compatibility issues with Windows XP. While playing 3d games the card frequently cause the game to hang which then results in computer automatically... Read full review »

Radeon 9000 Pro - A good bang for the buck

bymarkgun Jun 11, 2003

Pros Excellent Price/Performance ratio, DirectX 8.1 supported, VERY quiet GPU cooler, DVD...
Cons No DirectX 9 support, only 1 TMU, slow in Unreal 2003 engine based games
Recommended it? Yes

For $74, this is a very powerful card; however, since it only has 1 texture unit per pipe, it lacks performance when compared to the Radeon 8500 which has 2 TMUs. Also, my machine with a Gainwaird Golden Sample Geforce3 Ti200 offers much better performance in games based off the Unreal 2003 Engine... Read full review »

Pros Amazing performance for price
Cons After 2 years you may be looking to upgrade this
Recommended it? Yes

I have a 4 year old machine, it is getting to that point in time where things start to go wrong, or just doesn't hack it anymore. Memmory upgrades are fine and easy, but still graphics chunks around the screen while playing games. So I decide to go out and buy a graphics card. Since the machine is... Read full review »
