Some annoyances

A basic phone with some nice features.
Cons
Speaker lacks volume and LCD screen is dim.

No
The Bottom Line:
So-so phone and since the speaker in mine is weak, this phone is a marginal buy.
Cordless phones have many conveniences but when I'm at my desk, I prefer a landline connection. No batteries dying mid-call, known voice quality and with this one, a speaker to conduct calls while doing work on the computer.
Having used a Panasonic KX-T2365 and GE 2-9380 for the last 14+ years, I wanted a phone with caller ID and a reasonable amount of pre-set speed dial buttons. This ATT seemed perfect even if I didn't need the line 2 feature.
One key feature I want is speakerphone capability. The other criteria was: more than 10 speed dial buttons and Caller ID display, this phone had that. After having the phone for about 3 weeks, my gripes:
Poor volume control when using the speaker...even set high, I can barely hear the other caller and have to pick up the handset which to me is even a bit low in volume. The Panasonic and GE had excellent volume from the speaker that I could hear and conduct calls anywhere in the 15x18" room. This one I'm planted at my desk or for as far the cord will reach. :(
The function "beep" I find annoying when scrolling through missed calls and the menu system. At least it does let me know when I am using a function key.
When calls come in even though it set to L1 as primary, it shows calls for line 2 when it is not connected. ???
LCD doesn't offer sufficient contrast adjustments and this makes it difficult to read the data on screen. The backlight is only nice if the room is pretty dark. An orange or blue would give the LCD better contrast IMO.
It needs a 9V battery for emergency memory back-up. Which they didn't include with the phone. :(
With the speaker volume lacking, this generally ruined what could have been an otherwise great phone. The competitors phones in this class are hovering about $100 so this one at $50 was an attractive package.
