ASUS VH236H 23 inch LCD Monitor

The ASUS VH236H monitor is a very good "middle of the road" monitor.  23 inches, with clear, bright colors, and buttons/menus that are logically set up and easy to use, this is a very nice monitor, for the price. 

Setting it up was breeze.  The base connects easily and feels extremely sturdy.  You can not adjust this monitor's height, nor can it swivel.  But those features are not normally present in monitors in this price range.

On the other hand, there are built-in speakers which is a great feature!  No - they're not the best speakers in the world, but for light-weight use, they're just fine.  I like the non-cluttered look of a desk that's not hampered by external speakers, and the extra wires they require.

The shiny black finish looks great, and the screen appears to be at least somewhat resistant to fingerprints.  Or, at least, fingerprints seem to be somewhat less visible on this screen than some of the other monitors I've owned.

My only complaint is a fairly minor one - the connections are located on the back of the monitor, and they face down.  That is to say, you must angle the plugs "up" into the connectors.  This means that gravity will take its toll and the plugs will manage to wiggle their way down, if you don't tighten their side screws and/or push them very tightly into the connectors. 

The 23-Inch Wide (16:9) flat display (1080p hdmi/dvi-d) looks great, from almost any angle.  Overall, despite my one minor complaint, you really can't go wrong, with this monitor.
