Recently I was asked by a company to come in and take care of their APC UPS's they needed the batteries Replaced. I had decided to try to get the company to take advantage of all of APC built in features. When I started the work on the UPS's I was very happy with the way they were built and the ease (I thought) of the replacement of the batteries. If they only could have made the hole a little bigger for when the batteries go bad and swell. Had a ball with about 25 that were sure hell. then I went to reinstall the UPS's for the company. They own Mac's and PC's. When I tried to set the companies Mac computers up to take advantage of the APC UPS's Auto-shutdown. I used a basic adapter (from D9 to apple) every time I turned on computer the UPS's would shut down. well I figured that either one of the pins needed to be switched around, or not used at all, to prevent the UPS from shutting down. To be safe I called APC to see what a cable would cost and nearly fell out of my chair it was 100 DOLLARS FOR A SIMPLE CABLE that adapted a D9 to apple and of course the company could not see paying that much, nearly 1/3 THE PRICE OF THE UPS for a cable. The product are awesome but just don't own a Mac.
