Tips for underarm epilating with this product

Pros Gets better with time. Don't give up!!! Think smooth.
Cons loud and corded
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  It is probably the best $100 I have spent on myself in a very long time.
I bought this product after reading the previous reviews on this website. I was looking for an epilator that was the least painful and that I could use on my underarm hair. Living in FL, I am frequently in sleeveless outfits and I really wanted to use an epilator since shaving is nearly a daily thing. So...out I went and bought this baby. I first used it on my legs. Let me mention that I have never had a wax job anywhere but my eyebrows. It was painful---sort of, on the legs, but I got used to it within a few minutes. I did get red bumps nearly immediately and started to get discouraged. My recommendation is not to use this epilator on your wedding day. The bumps faded some in an hour or so, but required a couple more days to go completely. Now, 2 months later, there is virtually no pain and no redness. Your skin does get used to it. In fact, it actually becomes sort of fun. So then, onto the underarms. I had let my arm hair grow out some prior to buying the epilator because I knew I was planning to buy it. This may not have been the best plan. I am into natural child birth, but I was NOT into the amount of pain that was required to epilate my underarms. I got really discouraged and could only finish maybe 3/4 of arm one and only 1/2 of arm two. I almost took it back...but I hung in there. This is my advice---When you first begin your underarms, only remove half of the hair (or as much as you can tolerate) and then shave the rest. Then in 3-4 days, epilate again. What you will notice is that the only hair growth that you are epilating is the hair that you shaved. This allows you to only have to epilate some hair rather than all--and your underarms still look good. I kept this little schedule up and never used my razor again (after the first day). I just epilated the new growth and within a month of so, I got used to the feeling and it was no big deal anymore. I cannot tell you the freedom you will have with this product. My underarms always look good because maybe only six hairs are growing at one time. It is truly awesome. I wish my mom or a girlfriend had introduced it to me earlier. I show it to all my friends and have converted several. I am so proud of myself that I did not give up on the underarm thing. It was so worth hanging in there. Oh---and the bikini area is a piece of cake. It hurts less than any other spot. Go figure.
