The best bang for your nutritional (and financial!) buck.

Pros Excellent quality juice, low foam. Easy to clean. Quiet. High quality construction. Attractive design.
Cons Some chopping of food required.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  If you want a quality juicer and are juicing for health reasons, don't waste your money on a centrifugal juicer. Buy this one. Canadians: www.earthnotions.ca has good deals on it.
The Omega 8005 juicer is a single screw-type juicer, suitable for juicing a wide range of fruits, vegetables and leafy greens - including things that are difficult to juice such as pine needles or wheatgrass.

The auger spins at 80 RPM. At this low speed, very little heat is generated, which preserves the nutritional content of the juice. Another benefit from this process is that the juice that is produced has almost no foam.

Setup of this juicer is a breeze. After unpacking the contents of the box, all I had to do was plug it in and attach the juicing mechanism to the motor housing.

The unit weighs 18 lbs and is not only cosmetically attractive, but feels "well made". Components fit tightly and exude quality. I purchased the chrome model (8005) as opposed to the 8003 (they are the same juicer!), because chrome won't stain over the years, unlike white plastic.

The chute for introducing food into the juicer is approximately 2 inches in diameter. Carrots, celery, small cucumbers and radishes can be juiced without any preparation. Some cutting is necessary for items that are too large to fit into the chute. The included plunger has a rubber seal that does a good job of keeping the contents in the juicer.

Juicing proceeds quite quickly - don't be fooled by the low RPM of the spindle. The Omega 8005 eats through anything you throw at it rather quickly, although softer vegetables and fruits require a little more time to process.

The pulp is ejected from the end of the juicer into an included container. The pulp is EXTREMELY dry. Compared to my previous juicer (the Breville Juice Fountain), the pulp from the Omega 8005 is dry as a desert. The Breville also did a very poor job with leafy greens like spinach, parsley and lettuce. The Omega 8005 extracts plenty of juice from these hard-to-juice vegetables, while leaving the nutrients intact. (The Breville spins at 13,000 RPM - it juices quickly, but destroys the nutritional value of the juice - what's the point!??!)

The juice that comes out of the Omega 8005 is low in foam, and very rich in color and flavor. Omega includes a strainer, but I haven't had to use it yet - the juice that is ejected is very low in pulp and solids.

Cleaning the unit takes no more than 90 seconds. Detach the assembly from the motor mount, remove the auger and rinse all the parts. Omega includes a brush to clean the juicing screen. Rinse the two containers (one for juice and one for pulp), and you're done. Hint: My dog LOVES the pulp. Yours might too.

I have juiced all of the following with great success: carrots, celery, apples, parsley, spinach, dill, broccoli, radishes, wheatgrass, cucumbers, peppers, cantaloupe and ginger root.

The included manual is rather sparse, but includes some juicing recipes as well as instructions on how to use this unit (with the other included nozzles) to make nut butters, pasta, etc. I purchased this solely for vegetable juicing, but I anticipate I will try making some other dishes with it as well - peanut butter, fruit sorbet and spaghetti noodles.
