Don't Trust the Brand Name
Pros
Grateful I didn't pay any more than about $30.00 for this item.
Cons
A very poor example of a toaster. Not worthy of the Oster name.

The Bottom Line:
Style over substance. This product is not a functional toaster. OK for bagels but not successful with bread.
I bought this toaster a while ago and have been using it for nearly a year.
It was bought because I didn't want to buy a super cheap toaster (less than $20) and Oster was a trusted name (I have an Oster blender that I'm happy with).
My household are not daily toast eaters so it took about a month before we discovered the toaster's "personality".
Within a couple of months, the light for the "toast" setting no longer lit. That was irritating. All the other lights for other options light up when one presses the button.
As for the toasting capabilities, we eat both white and brown (rye based) toast so you'd think we'd need to turn the dial accordingly to avoid burning white bread that's toasting. Believe it or not, that's not necessary. This Oster toaster is so poor that it's not necessary to do so! In fact, it's hard to get good color on the bread with this toaster. It's not the bread. A variety of breads and thickness of bread are toasted but the results are consistently pale.
Another disappointment about the toaster is that I slice my bread from a loaf and the slices are a little long. Maybe 5" in length and I can't put this length of slice into the toaster. i.e. it's a little short.
On the positive side, the crumb tray is easy to remove and catches crumbs and other debris successfully. The chrome body of the toaster is attractive and doesn't get even warm when the toaster is in use.
This toaster seems to be able to cope with dealing with bagels. Unfortunately, we don't eat bagels every day and the majority of usage is with bread.
It might be considered a positive that it's very difficult to burn toast in this toaster because the elements are so weak. This might be positive to some people but I'd just like to get my toast to look toasty and not just heated and crunchy.
