I thought it would be great to have coffee maker and espresso maker in one unit. The coffee is good, but the carafe is difficult to pour without making a mess. The espresso maker smells up the whole house so badly we've quit using it. It smells like burning rubber. The manual warns of the smell first time or so, but it has not gone away - it has gotten worse. The coffee also takes a long time to brew.
