Buy this for un-qualified bragging rights only.
I bought this machine about a year and a half ago based on the price (about $70.00 at K-Mart). I figured that for $70.00 I would try it (I held on the to receipt though). We I got it home I was quickly disappointed in the quality.
First off, the only way that I could get any espresso pulled with any noticeable crema was with espresso pods (even then, it was slim pickings...). Choosing the correct grind and tamping pressure was a total nightmare at best.
The price is low, if you want to be able to tell your friends that you have an espresso machine, this will suffice. Past that, I suggest you look elsewhere.
I owned a steam pressure driven machine before this one that sells for about $20.00, I feel that the espresso shots pulled with it are better quality than those pulled with this unit. (In all fairness though, this unit defiantly froths better milk).
The milk frothed has a very weird "machine oil" after-taste to it, I assumed that this would pass with time. It has not after a year of owning and using the unit (Incidentally, the only reason that I never returned that unit is that I ended up losing the receipt).
