We have wanted an expresso maker for so long that when we got one for Christmas last year we were extatic. But after using the machine, we were disappointed.
The machine just did not live up to our expectations. I love cappachino, and while I did not figure that the first few cups would come out right, I thought that by now they would. We have had it for over a year now, and I still can not make perfect expresso or cappachino.
I followed the directions, which I must say did not impress me at all. I found them hard to follow, and I probably could have done a better job not even reading them. And when I steamed my milk, I did exactly what the directions said to do, and nothing. My milk was not steamed at all. It even claims to have a no fuss frother. I do not think that it was. I have tried and tried again, and so has my boyfriend. No such luck.
You will need to have small cups on hand as well for this machine. No cups or pots come with it, which for the money that was paid they could have atleast threw in two cups.
With this machine, you can either buy pods, or use grounds that you firmly pack into the holder. We did the grounds, and it was pretty easy to pack them in. And with packing them firmly, you get a much richer taste, which was nice. It does have a see through water guage on the side so you can see how much water you are adding.
I do not think that it was worth the money. It was pretty expensive I know. About the only thing I can say for this machine is that it is sleek and very easy to clean. Other than that, it is a huge waste and disappointment.
