The Bottom Line:
Read the other reviews carefully. Some had unique, peculiar problems. To me, this is a great machine in the under $100 bracket.
I bought this machine as a replacement for my little Krups that was acting up. The reviews I read BEFORE I bought it were really good. Then I checked epinions AFTER I bought it and was sort of scared. I was almost ready to take it back before I even used it. Well, much to my delight, I have started making some really good mocha lattes, my preferred drink. I'm still getting to know this machine, and still getting the routine down, but I think this is going to work out really well. I bought some of the pods to try. Not sure about them yet.
After just three tries...excellent crema. I'm using coffee that's a little too fine but no problems. I just don't pack it so tight.
- The warmer on the top of the machine does a nice job.
- I used cold milk and the steamer heated it very well and the froth was perfect.
- The scoop/tamper that comes with it is adequate; nothing special.
- To make another round, you can unhook the filter holder in seconds. I had to bleed off all the steam first with my Krups.
The machine takes up more space on the counter than my little Krups but it still isn't too big. It hums when it's pumping kind of like an aquarium pump. No big deal.
