Scotch Masking Tape: A General Necessity Around The House
Pros
Strong, many uses and easy to tear!
Cons
Can leave a residue on some surfaces.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
Scotch Masking Tape, a name and product you can trust!
Scotch Masking Tape is one of those things that you find comes in handy around the house. You can do so many things with it and that is why we keep a roll or two on hand at all times. I consider it a necessity for general purposes and great for using with projects.
Scotch Masking Tape
Scotch Masking Tape comes in a 2 inch wide roll that contains 60 yards of tape. It is a highly adhesive tape that can be used for many purposes but named for its masking abilities. It is recommended to be used on non-damageable surfaces only because it does have a tendency to leave a residue on some surface areas.
Scotch has been making this tape for over 75 years and brings a quality product to the marketplace. It can be found at any hardware store, building supply stores and most mass merchandising stores. This size usually costs between $1.99 to 2.99 per roll depending on where purchased.
It can be used in crafting, painting, to hold things down when other tape is not available, to seal off drafty windows until permanent repair can be made, can be written on and is easy to tear.
My Thoughts And Experience With Scotch Masking Tape
We normally keep at least one roll of Scotch Masking Tape, 2 inches x 60 yds. on hand at our house. My husband is always working on some kind of project and is often asking me where is the masking tape? Usually since he is the one that uses it the most often, I am clueless!
I use masking tape in my kitchen to label packages that I am putting into the freezer. I can use a marker to write on the tape and this is easy to do and works for the purpose. I frequently repackage meat and this is an easy way to date and label it.
I would like to comment on the fact that Scotch Masking Tape will leave a residue on some surfaces. Use your common sense when applying this to any surface. I remember when my oldest daughter was competing in beauty pageants. The queens were always invited to ride in all the parades at Christmas, Homecoming, and other special events. It was always a lot of fun and decorating the car was also lots of fun. We learned from experience not to let the kids loose to do this on their own. We ended up with the kids putting scotch tape on a sports car that did not belong to us and leaving a residue on the paint finish. We were not pleased but everything turned out just fine with the help of Ooops!
I have always trusted the Scotch brand. They have been a leader in the tape industry and have high quality products. I've tried other brands of masking tape but they do not compare in quality. Cheaper brands are thinner and they do not tear easily or straight. I hate picking up a roll of masking tape or any other tape to find layers of tiny threads to unwind to get to the point where I can use the tape. This doesn't happen with Scotch Masking Tape.
Recommendation
Scotch Masking Tape is a high quality product with endless uses around the house. I give Scotch Masking Tape 5 Stars.
