The Bottom Line:
I indeed recommend this product to others based on how well it has alleviated many of my allergy symptoms, its effective CADR, reasonable filter cost, and even its design.
After much research with respect to the relationship between the almost innumerable air purifiers on the market and their respective CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate), I was very impressed when reading the statistics on this unit via the 3M webpage. I am now into my third month using this product for a bedroom of approximately 250 sq feet, and have experienced a significant decrease in my allergies, namely, coughing and hives from dust mites. Although I have yet needed to change the filter, the orange indicator light came on last week (indicating that the filter should be changed soon), which is right on schedule, given the typical 3-month filter life for this unit.
I am contemplating buying this same model again for my office, although I haven't arrived at the point where I am willing to buy a $150 item simply for office use. (I bought it new, online, for $150).
Pros: relatively quiet on low; indicator lights that show either green, orange, or red, pertaining to filter replacement. I purchase filters online in bulk for about $17 each, each filter lasting an average of three months.
Cons: my wife will not let me sleep with it on high due to the noise. The noise isn't bad at all, but it does sound like gushing wind at high. For some, it may be 'white noise;' for others like my wife, it becomes annoying on the higher setting.
