I bought this when I was a freshman in college thinking that it would be the best buy-boy was I wrong!
I purchased it at Walmart for about $75 and brought it home, plugged it in and it was a no-go from there. It required lots of work to get going properly, and when I finally got it scanning and printing it crashed! I took it back to Walmart and traded in for a new one. I went through the same drama setting it up. If the printer worked, then the scanner didn't work. After talking to Lexmark's representatives and fumbling around with it I got it going. I got a good two years out of it before the power cable shorted out (which you can't buy a replacement for in stores!) and I gave up on my Lexmark.
The ink is expensive-about $30 per cartridge! Sometimes if you were lucky you could find refurbished ink cartridges for it that cost about $20, but most of the time I had to shell out the big bucks when it ran out.
