Cons
Slow Load time, paper feed errors!
Recommended it?

The Bottom Line:
I would buy the HP series. I have it on high authority it out performs the Lexmark line!
Prologue
Well I had owned my very own Lexmark 22 InkJet printer for quite some time and finally decided I wanted the all important all-in-one because I wanted to free up some USB ports on my PC. Thus lo and behold when I found the Lexmark X75 priced at a mere $85.00 at my local Wal-Mart I slapped down the cash without hesitation. The following takes place between July 1, 03 and and August 29th 2003. My name is Friday and I am an Epinions reviewer.
Basic Facts
Scans and Prints:1200 DPI Color (2800 Black and White)
Average Print Speed Time (after 100 pages):1 min 30 seconds.
Connection:USB
Software Package:Easy to Install! Easy To Use!
Fax: Not Observed

I brought my unit home and was relatively happy with the ease of set up and installation. I immediately began scanning and printing images. For now I was enjoying my new toy.
July 04, 2003
I was anxious to scan some of my photos and upload my holiday fun so others could see.
But to my dismay even though the photos were of good quality my scans kept scanning poorly. On top of that the load time for each picture was taking more than 3 minutes.
My name is Friday, I am a detective. I call the customer service line and give them my inquiry. I am told that is an average load time for pictures on many machines and that if I buy another USB cable I might get faster load times.
July 21, 2003
Three days later the cover to the scanner surface won't stay in it's socket. Three USB cables later and still no improvement in performance on any of the following PC configurations.
Pentium 4 1.8 ghZ wtih 226 DDR RAM using Windows XP Home
Pentium 4 2.0 ghz with 226 DDR RAM using Windows ME
Pentium 4 1.5 ghz with 225 DDR RAM using Windows 98
August 03
Found if I changed the property settings for my desktop and graphics to 1024 X 768 the load time improved to 2 minutes 15 seconds.
Something new happened though. Fate turned its ugly head and now about every other page printed will cause the printer to jam or splotch due to sending out more than one page at a time.
Called customer service and was advised if I used the alignment and clean the jets feature of the software this should improve.
Tried the suggested advice. This detective felt let down and given the old blow off.
Epilogue
August 29th, 2003
Tried to use the printer and my second ink cartridge is empty after only 10 prints on best quality. Something smells in the State of Texas and it's my Lexmark X75.
Take it from me, a flatfoot who feels not so frugal! Don't buy this mess. It is a multi problemed, cheaply produced product disguised as a Red Hot Deal!
If you want to use for anything less than just playing around with images or printing a low level text document with no images you had better pass!
