The starter kit contains an 8-slot redundant-ready chassis with pre-installed dual power supplies, a fan assembly, and the switch fabric. The backplane provides interconnection for all areas of the switch. Management and control signals, high-speed data signals, and power for the modules are transmitted over the backplane.
