The Bottom Line:
Do not buy this, It is worthless and has no suction power at all.
A few years ago, we bought the Bissell 3574 upright vacuum after our old vacuum failed. We went with Bissell because we have other Bissell products and they are a company that we respect. But that changed a little with this vacuum.
First of all let me say that I need a powerful vacuum with lots of suction. We not only have a lighter colored carpet that shows everything, we have 7 indoor cats that shed. Plus my boyfriend and me have long hair, so that just adds to the problem.
This vacuum has a nice design, but its suction power is worthless. It does a good job at picking up kitty litter if I use the attached hose, but if I run the vacuum over the carpet, it has a hard time picking up the litter. And do not even get me started on the cat fur. It will not pick it up. I have tried using the attached hose and the brush to comb the hair out of the carpet and it still does a worthless job. I vacuum and you can not even tell that I have done anything. You can use this vacuum on bare floors, but it does not pick anything up. You can change the carpet level as well, but it is hard to do. The dial does not want to turn very good.
When I empty the canister, lots of the junk ends up on the floor, thus making a bigger mess.
The only thing this vacuum has going for it is that it is bagless. But I would much rather own a vacuum with a bag that works good than to own this worhtless piece.
I bought this vacuum at Wal-mart for $75.
