The Bottom Line:
I would trust these cases to keep all of my disks safe and clean. I use them for karaoke, software, games, music CDs, photo CDs, anything.
I like to make back up copies of all of my original karaoke disks to carry with me because it can get expensive to replace damaged disks if something happens to them. I use them to back up my music, game and software collections for safekeeping. They are a safe way for storing and transporting my disks.
I ran out of cases and rather than drive twice as far, I paid slightly more for the Memorex 50 Pack of CD/DVD Slim Jewel Cases instead of the cases I normally buy. These Memorex Slim Jewel Cases are made of hard, durable plastic. Although I have had a few of them break, the number was minimal considering that I carry them around to karaoke shows all of the time.
I like the slim jewel cases because they are only about 3/16" (5mm) thick when closed, taking up only half of the space of the regular cases. This way I can store twice the CDs in the same space as the full sized cases.
I paid $18 for a 50 pack of these as opposed to $10-$15 for the Staples 50 pack, that I normally buy. I am happy with the quality though, and considering the price difference, it was definitely worth the difference to save me the trip or the wait for an online order to arrive.
Each 50 pack comes in assorted colors, making it easy to sort your music collection. For instance, I can keep my country music in orange cases, my rock in red cases and so on. That way, it is easier for me to find just what I am looking for. You get ten each of red, blue, green, purple and orange.
Inside the clear plastic cover are tabs that can easily hold a paper or other insert in place to tell you what is on your CD. You can buy these CD inserts separately, or make your own.
The cases measure about 5" x 5 5/8" wide, and are perfect for holding all of your CDs or DVDs. Just pop your disk into the tray, snap the cover shut and it holds firmly. Disks are easy to remove by grasping the sides and lifting out.
Since I have tried these I will use these in addition to the Staples 50 pack that I have been using for several years now.
