The Bottom Line:
This product does a great job at protecting your CDs. Great value for the $10 I paid for it.
One day I was searching around for a software disk to put in the my computer, and I noticed that I had CDs laying all over the place. So, figuring that something should be done about this I decided to go to the store and see if I could find some cases put my CDs and DVDs in. To be honest here wasn't looking to spend a lot of money, and that is when I found the Memorex 50 pack, CD/DVD Jewel Case.
I had looked at a couple different stores, and the cases that were available were all higher priced than this 50 pack that I found that Wal-Mart for $9.99.
These Memorex cases are made for holding any kind of CD, from music to CD-ROM games to DVDs. The cases themselves measure about 5" x 5 5/8" wide, and are quite slim as well as they measure only half the size of a standard CD case at 3/16" thick when closed. I kind of like the fact that they're thinner than most cases, as it helps me to save some room.
The cases in this 50 pack are also color-coded. They are red, blue, green, purple and orange. (You get 10 of each color) The covers of the cases are a clear, see-through plastic and the bottoms (or trays) are colored. I like to keep my software disks in the red and yellow cases, and my music CDs in the others. This just kind helps me find what I'm looking for a little bit faster. The covers of the cases also have slots in them to hold any paper covers that you might want to create for your CDs.
The plastic of the cases seems to be pretty thin, and the cases themselves are a little bit flimsy. They seem fairly durable though, as I have dropped them a few times and haven't broken any of them. They are also constructed in such a way that they snap shut to keep your CDs from falling out. These cases also allow you to easily grab a CD by the sides to remove it from the case.
Overall, I think that these were a great buy, and when I run out of the first 50 I bought, I'll purchase them again.
