The Bottom Line:
I really like this product. It is easier to use than my regular range style oven and easier to clean, safer cooking than a microwave.
I bought this oven last fall and I love it. The oven on my stove is hard to clean and kills my back. After reading of the dangers of microwave cooking and how microwaves destroy food, I decided to move the microwave to the garage and get a convection oven. I bought mine through Target online. It was not available in their local retail store. It was on sale for $99.00 so I thought that sounded like a pretty fair price, plus going through my Discover Card bonus rebates, I was able to get another five percent off. This oven has a pretty good capacity and easily handles most of my baking and broiling needs. I haven't yet tried the rotisserie feature but I use the baking and convection features all the time. I also like that it has a timer and automatically turns off, which my regular oven doesn't have. My regular oven also had a tendency to set off the smoke detector even though it is clean. This Hamilton Beach oven doesn't do that.
Temperature settings seem right on target, which surprised me a bit considering the glass door does not seal and heated air can easily escape. I thought this unit is 1500 watts, so I was surprised this site says it is only 120 watts. If it is only 120 watts, I can recommend it to my friend that lives in a mobile home with aluminum wiring. He is too worried about a fire with higher wattage appliances. He's already had an electric skillet cause an outlet to fry.
