Major League Baseball 2K9 for Xbox 360

I really enjoy playing this game, it offers a wide variety of playing modes and it is extremely addicting. I always enjoy using the on line settings in the game. It offers a great match up system in which you are set up with someone who is at your same skill level, and it really compliments you and critiques you as you go along. One thing I do dislike about the game is that in the on line mode, it often resets your win-loss record if you don't play for several days. This can be especially annoying if you have attained a good winning record. Something else that can be annoying is the occasional freezing a player when going for a pop-fly ball. Interestingly, it has only happened to me with Jason Varitek of the Boston Red Sox, and it gave the opposing team an inside the park home run. Also, if you do not pick off the throw from the outfield it will just slowly roll in and give runners another extra base. The players are very up to date, and this is shown with quick updates on roster changes and trades, as well as free agency pickups. There is a season mode which offers the option of a fantasy drafts, which can be fun if you want to have a team with only all-stars. This is also an easy way to earn some of the many achievements the game offers. In a quick game, you can set your lineup, including which spot to put someone in or if they should be on the bench.  Overall a really good game, with a great season and on line mode, and it is easy to set up a game with a friend.
