It is hard to find a toaster that works well and this toaster is no exception. Contrary to the review below the metal does get hot and you can get burned. The toaster is very slow and takes too long to toast (slower than the others that I have tried) and it is hard to get the bread toasted just the way you want it. Only one centering rack moves in each slot and they push the bread closer to one side--giving an uneven toasting, sometimes being burnt on one side and not done on the other.
