Great value toaster
Pros
Inexpensive. Toasts evenly. Cool touch chrome. Long slots. Pops up high. Simple to use.
Cons
Short cord. No special features. Hinged crumb tray.

This unit is the same as the Proctor Silex 22608. It cost $9 at the "big orange box" and toasts as well as most toasters and better than some big names like Cuisinart. It's not a beauty. You won't get an oohs and ahhs from visitors, but you will get decent toast without a lot of trade-offs.
My biggest pet peeves with current toasters are:
1. Short slots that won't fit Pepperidge Farms-type toast that is wider than tall.
2. Pop-up height that is shy of what's needed and forces you to push the handle up.
3. Short cords.
4. Uneven toasting. Hey - that's what the darned things are for! Hello?
For a mere $9, this model only has one of the above weaknesses - the short cord. Ours has been in use for over a year with no problems, so add reliability to the Pros.
A good, cheap toaster
