My wife and I have owned a Sonata for some time now. It has been a very dependable and enjoyable car to drive. One of the first things I noticed about the car that I like is the smooth ride. Bumps are minimized and over the long haul, it provides a comfortable ride. All the accesories are easy to use and have not given us any problems. It's gas mileage in the city is probably about average for similar sized cars. I love the fact that I can still do some basic maintenance on it like change the spark plugs, air filter, and oil. We weren't able to on our previous car. This particular model has what's known as sports mode shifting. This allows you to shift the car yourself without the need of a clutch. Although this feature is nice every now and then, it seems somewhat impractical. I have noticed that the transmission shifts differently than other cars I've owned. It seems rougher to me but when I asked about it, they said that it was normal. The engine is more than sufficient in power for this car and offers no problems for quick starts and hills. Sound equipment is important to me and although the stereo is not the top of the line such as bose or infinity, it sounds good and works well. The body style is similar to the Honda Accord and is sharp looking. The most important thing as we searched for a car was getting the most for what we could afford. I believe that the Sonata has more than met that goal. I am a satisfied customer.
