Mine lasted about 6 months

Pros Space & cost (for me)
Cons Short life span
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  Not recommended unless you find the good reviews outweigh the bad ones.
I have the PNY 2 GB SD card which I bought about 6 months ago at Best Buy. I have not used it for repeated read/write cycles. I loaded about 1G worth of .mp3s onto the card, got a USB "key" SD card reader for about $10 (which effectively converts the card into a USB key) and played the .mp3s in my car stereo. (Yes, there was a reason I didn't just get a 2gb USB key to begin with which I won't get into here). About a month ago I started to get intermittent read errors. But when I would remove and replace the USB card reader, it seemed to work okay.

That is, until today. Once the stereo could no longer read from the card this time, I could not get it to work again. At first I thought it might be the cheap card reader that stopped working. I plugged it into my PC at work and it could not read the card either. So, once I got home, I pulled out my Sandisk 6-in-1 reader and inserted the card in that. Unfortunately, the card was unreadable in that as well.

Sooo -- the card itself is bad, and that after just 6 months' worth of playing .mp3s in the car and only writing to it but a few times at the beginning. I handled the card and the USB card reader gently during its short lifespan. And, I generally only listened to the .mp3s during my 20-40 minute commutes to/from work. So I pretty much used the card lightly.

PROS: 2GB was obviously a good amount of storage space for the $45 the card cost me (on sale, and with a gift card). As of April-May 2006 of course!

CONS: The title and review pretty much says it. It only lasted 6 months under careful handling and light use.
I'm posting this negative review because I searched the internet and found other reviews on PNY SD cards. While there are some good ones, there are about as many if not more negative ones in the samples that I saw. PNY is made by Toshiba so I expected better, but I am disappointed. I hope I just got a "lemon" card and others have had better experiences.
