This is a beautifully restored and maintained 19th century German Violin. The sound Post crack, is a very fine crack, looks more like a scratch then a crack. The very nicely carved scroll is typical of early 1800's . The peg holes have been bushed, very professionally and almost invisible. The varnish is a golden brown and in good condition, though has worn through in the normal places from regular Playing. The sound of this violin is professional/solo ist quality. Rich and warm, with good balance, focus and projection across all strings. The lower strings are deep and rich, more like a viola.
