The Bottom Line:
If you enjoy fighting and character building this game is a good choice, if you enjoy quests with a challenge then I would look at other options.
I played Diablo, and finished it. On the plus side, if you like adventure games that involve primarily fighting then you will enjoy this game. If you enjoy a "mind challenge" in your games then this is probably not for you.
Unfortunately I am in the latter group.
Diablo 2 is divided into 4 acts. The mission is to complete the quest in each act and defeat the "big bad guy" at the end of each one too. The quests are easy, and don't require any real "brainstorming".
I found that fighting was relatively easy, and using special weapons and spells is reasonably easy. Levelling is automatic (no need to visit a guild), which helps, and it allows you to choose which attributes you want to improve with each level. Healing is primarily done with the use of potions, which you can find in 4 different strengths. You can learn fighting skills of various types to aid you in battle.
I must say that the Graphics are exceptional, and I consider them to be one of the saving graces of the game. I did not find any problems with the game freezing, or not loading properly, which is also a huge plus. (too often you buy a game only to find that at a critical point it has a bug in it.)
The final battle was disappointing....unfortunately. I was hoping for a challenge at the end, and really was quite surprised at the ease of the final battle.
