Linear AKR-1 Keypad. Linear AKR-1 Exterior Digital Keypad with Radio Receiver is a digital keyless entry system designed for access control applications. The keypad is housed in a rugged cast aluminum enclosure that can be mounted to a pedestal or bolted directly to a wall. The die-cast keys have bright, easy-to-read yellow graphics. Up to 480 entry codes, from 1 to 6 digits in length, can be programmed. They can activate either, or both, of the relay outputs. Up to four sets of block coded MegaCode® transmitters (up to 480 transmitters total) can be used to gain access through the AKR-1’s built-in radio receiver. MegaCode uses a frequency of 318 MHz and features over one million radio codes to all but eliminate any possibility of code duplication. It offers simplified programming via the receiver's learn mode. Previously, when installers wanted to add MegaCode capability to a garage door operator that did not come already outfitted with a MegaCode receiver, they had to use Linear's MDR receiver in combination with a power transformer. The MDR/U replaces the MDR and plugs directly into any electrical outlet. All that is required is running a single two-conductor wire from the MDR/U to the operator's push-button input. The MDR/U has one normally open contact output. It can be used to send a remote control signal from up to 10 MegaCode transmitters. A learn mode dramatically simplifies programming to just a button press. The Model MCT-11 1-Channel Visor Transmitter is a wireless radio control designed for use with automatic garage and gate operators. MegaCode transmitters and receivers do not contain a typical ”coding switch”. Each transmitter is permanently coded at the factory. The transmitter sends a unique code when the button is pressed. The receiver is programmed by learning a transmitter’s unique digital code. The receiver will activate only from the memorized transmitters. The transmitter is powered by two Type 2032 coin-cell batteries. They should last 3 years with normal use. The red indicator on the face of the transmitter will glow when the unit is activated. If the indicator lights dimly, or not at all when transmitting, the batteries need to be replaced. To conserve battery life, an internal timer limits the transmission duration to 10 seconds if the transmitter button is held down.

Its wireless design and small size make it easily adaptable for a variety of access control requirements. Typically, the AP-5 is used to control one or two door strikes, barrier gates, automatic gates, or door operators. The AP-5 contains a high-gain superheterodyne UHF receiver which uses an external antenna to pick up signals from up to 500 feet away. Up to 480 Linear MegaCode transmitters or 238 MDKP keypad entry codes, and six Model MGT gate safety edge transmitters can be programmed into the AP-5’s memory.

The Model D-21A Normally Open Wall-mount Transmitter has a normally open input circuit that operates in conjunction with an externally mounted normally open magnetic or mechanical contact. When the external contact closes, the transmitter automatically transmits a two-second digitally coded signal to a companion standard digital receiver. Pressing the test pushbutton on the front of the transmitter will also cause the transmitter to send a signal. Each transmission causes the red LED indicator on the front of the transmitter to light, showing that the transmitter is sending a signal and that the battery is in good condition.

This allows the user to stop or reverse the opener quickly, without having to re-enter their code.
