The Control SB-2 subwoofer provides low-frequency reinforcement in subwoofer/satelli te systems. The Control SB-2 is ideal for foreground music and music/paging systems in restaurants, retail establishments, theme bars, music cafes, health clubs, and other indoor applications. The unique slot-load vented design provides acoustic low-pass filtering. Compared to traditional bandpass subwoofers, the JBL SB-2 subwoofer offers superior musical clarity and bass impact. The satellite outputs are high-pass filtered, reducing overall system distortion by eliminating the need for the satellite speakers to reproduce frequencies in the low bass range. The satellites operate more efficiently, maintaining excellent midrange clarity and realism in music and paging. The high-pass filtering also allows a greater number of satellite speakers to be paralleled in the system by increasing the impedance the amplifier sees in the subwoofer range. The stereo inputs are 8 ohms each. The combination of the satellite high-pass filtering, the acoustic slot load filtering and a built-in second order low-pass crossover network results in smoother overall system frequency response and virtually eliminates the muddiness typical of other subwoofer/satelli te systems by reducing frequency overlap in the low midrange. The MRX518S is a compact, high-power subwoofer containing a 2044G 18" woofer in a front-loaded, vented enclosure. The speaker enclosure is designed to present a minimum frontal area. The system offers complete input connection flexibility for compatibility with a variety of cabling schemes. The input panel incorporates a pair of Neutrik Speakon NL-4 connectors wired in parallel. The MRX518S is supplied with pins +1/-1 connected to the woofer. This may be easily reconfigured to work with cabling systems intended to drive subwoofers on pins +2/-2. For "subwoofer/satell ite" configurations, the MRX518S audio speaker is equipped with a top-mounted, 36mm polemount socket that can receive the optional SS3-BK pole. This can be used to mount speakers equipped with standard 35mm pole sockets and weighing up to 100 lbs. The enclosure is constructed of top-quality plywood, coated in JBL's rugged DuraFlex finish, and braced to maximize low-frequency performance. The attractive CNC-machined, 16-gauge steel grille is internally lined with an acoustically transparent screen to provide additional driver protection and give a very professional appearance.

The VRX918S is a compact, high power suspendable subwoofer system containing a 2268H neodymium magnet, patented Differential Drive®, 18" woofer in a front-loaded, vented enclosure. The VRX918S was designed specifically for use in arrays with the VRX932LA Line Array speaker and VRX-AF Array Frame. In addition it may also be used in arrays consisting entirely of VRX918S subwoofers.The system offers complete input connection flexibility for compatibility with a variety of cabling schemes. A recessed, external switch allows selection of either contacts +1/-1 or +2/-2.Equally at home in ground stacked applications, the VRX918S is equipped with a top-mounted, threaded, 20 mm socket that can receive the optional SS4-BK pole. This adjustable height pole can be used to mount speakers equipped with standard 35 mm pole sockets and weighing up to 100 lb. Power handling is dramatically increased and when multiple enclosures are used together in an array they work together seamlessly as if they were a single driver on a very long waveguide. Horizontal Coverage No matter how many enclosures in a VRX array the horizontal coverage is a constant 100°. Rather than stacking and arraying systems side by side and running the risk of an inconsistent sound field as the coverage patterns overlap, with the VRX, the array is built vertically, and sound is projected from a single waveguide. With no overlapping coverage patterns, not only is the sound filed extremely consistent a great stereo image is guaranteed. Amplitude Shading The Array Shading Configuration selector enables an array to be fine tuned for an even more consistent sound field. Each high-frequency section in an array can be boosted or cut. For example, the upper enclosures in an array can be boosted to project the high frequencies to the back of the venue, while the lower enclosures can be cut, shaded back for less output for the front rows of the venue. Differential Drive Woofers VRX uses JBL's Differential Drive woofers with dual voice-coils and neodymium magnets. Neodymium's magnetic properties allow a few ounces to replace pounds of conventional magnetic material. In the Differential Drive configuration the magnet is positioned inside the two voice coils making traditional big steel pole plates redundant, further decreasing the size and weight of the driver. The use of neodymium and the dual voice coil design delivers a very light-weight driver with massive amounts of power capacity, low distortion and reduced power compression.
