The Control 23T is one of the most compact of JBL Professional's Control Contractor Series indoor/outdoor loudspeakers, making it a perfect choice for patios, foyers, retail or other applications where foreground/backgr ound music and paging are required, with minimum aesthetic impact. They can be used in either 70.7V or 100V distributed-line sound systems. The single power tap is 5W at 70.7V and 10W at 100V. The unique InvisiBall mounting hardware makes short work of permanent installation. In addition, the InvisiBall mounting method adds the benefit of vertical rotation of up to 37° and horizontal rotation of up to 44°. Because InvisiBall adjustments are made through a hidden access behind the logo badge, the grille never needs to be removed, while providing a high-degree of theft deterrence. The Control 23T readily accepts a variety of paints and finishes to match any decor. Weather resistance is maximized by coating the woofer cone in polypropylene and terminating its circumference in JBL's WeatherEdge, a seamless, rubberized extension of the woofer surround that provides added protection to critical transducer elements. The polycarbonate tweeter diaphragm is reinforced with a thin film of titanium for added rigidity and endurance against sun, salt and moisture. Zinc-plated grilles resist rusting in the harshest conditions. You can't go wrong with speakers from the company whose name is synonymous with cinema sound and was voted number one in the recording industry in 1976 (the heyday of recording) by studio professionals. Today, JBL monitors are used by Grammy winners such as Frank Fillipetti (Ray Charles, Korn, Billy Joel, Kiss) and Nate Kunkel (B.B. King, Sting, Crystal Method, Maroon 5).

The 2446H/J is a professional quality high-frequency compression driver that incorporates JBL's newly developed Coherent Wave phasing plug as well as a pure titanium diaphragm with radial ribs and patented three- dimensional diamond pattern suspension. The Coherent Wave phasing plug assembly consists of four die-cast annular aperture structures of constant path length to provide m-phase combining of diaphragm output at the driver's exit. This optimized configuration allows coherent summation of acoustical power up to much higher frequencies than afforded by earlier designs. The diaphragm design includes JBL's exclusive three- dimensional diamond pattern surround which reduces membrane stresses in the diaphragm support structure and extends diaphragm life. The depth of the diamond pattern is closely controlled during the manufacturing process to provide predictable frequencies for the 2nd and 3rd normal resonance modes and for the basic suspension resonance mode. The diaphragm also incorporates a series of embossed radial reinforcing ribs that increase diaphragm stiffness. This diaphragm, when combined with the Coherent Wave phasing plug, increases the 2446H/J's output in the 5 kHz to 20 kHz range. High-temperature voice coil former materials and adhesives enable the 2446H/J to handle extremely high power levels over extended periods of time. The voice coils themselves are identical to previous JBL models, so that impedance and network matching will be the same. After manufacture, the frequency response of each driver is tested for conformity to JBL's rigid performance standards. 2446H/J is ruggedly constructed to withstand the rigors of both fixed and transportable commercial applications. All cast parts and machined tolerances are held to the same levels traditionally associated with JBL designs.
